President's Message

You can say hello to summer and make important gains with your visit to MOBESKO, Furniture of the World.

Hello

In order for Turkey to reach its 2023 vision, it needs to make an intense effort together with all sectors. As the furniture industry, we will also make important contributions to this intense effort. On the basis of this contribution; employment, exports, innovation and manufacturing. These four main factors enable the sector to develop and move forward. Because the sector has grown 13 times in the last 15 years, and the sector, which exported 300 Million Dollars at the beginning of the 2000s, increased this figure to 2.4 Billion Dollars compared to 2015.

Despite the war, chaos and economic crises in the foreign markets, as well as the stagnation created by the political vacuum in the domestic market and the increasing terrorist incidents in recent years, the sector has maintained its development momentum. Namely; While these events caused the sector to shrink commercially, the competitive quality of the products increased, R&D studies were increased and they were offered to the consumers with better quality but lower cost and more attractive designs, and most importantly, at more affordable prices.

These effective works in the domestic market have created new foreign market searches in the sector, and in the 2000s, most of our companies, which make up our sector that works entirely on the domestic market, started to visit foreign fairs and contributed to the promotion of both our country and our sector. This stagnation enabled the sector to open up to the outside and renew itself even more.

When the political will fully supports the sector, the 2023 targets will be able to become reality. E.g; While increasing the number of installments in credit cards to 12 months relieved our industry a little, this situation allowed the consumer to act more easily and especially the commercial market to be revitalized. When we look at whether this is enough, it is seen that this number is not enough. Because when we think that a furniture set is 10-15 thousand TL, it is obvious that these figures cannot be easily paid with the current installment opportunity. We expect this to be increased to at least 16 installments and the 8% VAT rate applied in the textile sector to be applied to the furniture sector as well.

In addition, we appreciate that the government makes a significant contribution to investors, both KOSGEB and TÜBİTAK provide support for Business Establishment and Entrepreneurship. We believe that our members will increase their R&D activities in this direction.

MOBESKO, the shining star of the sector and the exemplary furniture shopping mall, has shown a very important rise in our region and especially in our province since 2010, when it started operating. Since it is a furniture shopping mall where family can visit and have fun shopping, we are targeting a rate of close to 20% in growth by going even further, that this rising trend will be above the inflation rate as of the end of 2016, which is featured in national and local media. In addition to the favor of the people of the region, the intense interest of foreign nationals and Arab origin citizens in Sapanca and its surroundings contributed significantly to this development.
